Nerd fest
I went by my old buddy Chuck Leone's toy shop today after my root canal finalization, and found some treasures. Italian cars for my father in law, and potty training bribes for my son.
Something wrong with this picture?
Whenever people talk junk about Kodak, I have to pull out this dinosaur my parents bought me in 98 to go with my Blue Imac generation 1. This 2.3 megapixel beast was $795.00, which seems insane today, but to it's credit it can still hang to some capacity. It also uses CF cards :)
books rule
I didn't have much time, or a great place to shoot pictures of the actual finished book, but this gives you an idea of the beautiful quality and the large glossy pages.
Exploring
Us guys have to keep busy while mom gets a chance to rest, so we did some park exploring with the dog.
Family shots
Tried my new set-up last night for the first time. I used a monolight and a small generator to achieve some quality fill light where power wasn't available. It seemed to work well since the area was quite shaded (family portrait only).
Ouch!!!!!
My fried Jeff sent me this link today, wild......
Radiant Light
I love this shot, it could be a bit sharper, but given the quick action and low light it's not too bad. More importantly than technical "mumbo jumbo" is the moment that was captured, that's why I love it most. Plus anyone who's ever photographed their subjects with the sun behind them understands how hard it is to prevent silhouetting.
new cards
These cards were made using technology and letterpress from 150+ years ago. I wanted a minimal vintage looking card, and Tony Zanni did it for me at Dock 2 Letterpress. The silver ink is actually debossed or pushed down into the stock, so when you run your finger over it the text is recessed. I'm just getting burned out on cheesy overly slick design, and this is perfect for me.
