light experiment in the darkroom

Using a light up bouncy ball and some intermittent flash we were able to capture some odd lighting situations.

High ISO w/ noise reduction

Lit with minmal light, I shot this at ISO 3200, 1/20 of a second, F2.8, 24mm, slight blur, but acceptable. I also used color noise reduction.

stopping motion

We are continuing to work on stopping motion with the lowest ISO possible, this was ISO 400, F10, 1/400 of a second.

Leapster

I took a few shots of my son in super low light to show my students the positives and negatives of what I consider super high ISO (3200). Even with heavy pixel noise in the darks the pictures are still relatively sharp.

Snowshoeing 2

I brought a simple Kodak C813 (8.1 megapixel "point and shoot ") camera snowshoeing today. I'm not entirely trilled, but I still like the way some scenes were captured. My one obvious complaint is lens quality, and it shows in the detail, but it beats bringing nothing and it's light. They retail for about $44.99 now. It was my wife's, I replaced it with a Canon Powershot that takes much better pictures, so this is mine for walking around with, and not having to worry about.

Art Dept. Promo

I've been working on this video to enlighten students to great courses we teach, and how much fun they can have learning through the Visual Arts.

Kaitlyn's Panda

Built in computer art, using only text layers to construct the Panda.

old school color

Students were hand coloring black and white traditional process prints, we tried to restrain and keep it subtle.

Sculpture Progress

Students working hard on their sculptures this morning, thats the way we start the day (running).

snowblind

made this after walking around the park today, dang it was blustery....

Corrosion

Darkroom chemicals have taken their toll on this trap.

cool portrait

Portrait using a ring light.

long exposures

Long exposure self portraits with three flash blasts using off camera flash and pocket wizards.

More Water

I used off camera flash, an extra light, and really long exposures with multiple subjects.

Grim Weather

Grim weather, Rochester at it's finest, cold, grey and snowing again...
