Constant DSLR light for $3.99
Later I removed the metal contact pin, just in case it might trick the camera into thinking an active flash is mounted on the hot shoe.
I made this simple LED constant light from parts and a light that was on sale for 3.99 at Harbor Freight Tools (Tools China). I shot one pic on Program mode in complete darkness, but it's really ideal for video interviews in really dark environments or shooting manual. Fun for $4.00. Oh, take the base off a junk flash, then glue and screw it in. This will give it a more solid and functional design. All the samples were shot in almost complete darkness, it's not perfect, just more for fun.
